Lela Mae Harris, 78, died on Monday, Aug. 4, 2008.
She was born July 18, 1930, to the late Jack J. Harris and Gypsey Jewell Fricks Harris in Walker County. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant and was of the Southern Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris L. Harris; brother, Jimmy Burl Harris.
Survivors include her sister, Betty Sue Harris, of LaFayette; brother and sister-in-law, William C. and Sherry Harris, of Cleveland, and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Melvin Bridges officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. on Wednesday and prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
