Women’s Initiative Volunteers For Habitat’s Women Build Campaign posted July 22, 2008 Members of the Women’s Initiative in the Chattanooga office of Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC are participating in the Women Build project for Habitat for Humanity. The house, located at 37 Scruggs Street near Erlanger Medical Center, is being entirely funded and built by women. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our attorneys, staff and their family members to come together for a project that will mean so much to a Chattanooga family,” said Sheri Fox, an attorney in Baker Donelson’s Chattanooga office who is coordinating Women Build for the Firm. “What’s so exciting is working side-by-side with Latrice Kirk, who will move into the house with her two-year old son, Joshua, when it’s finished,” added Ms. Fox. Ms. Kirk’s house will be the first EarthCraft House™ constructed by Women Build in Chattanooga. An EarthCraft House™ is energy efficient and reduces utility bills for the homeowner while protecting the environment. Fourteen volunteers from the Firm have already put in a full day’s work on Ms. Kirk’s new house and many are scheduled to work again on Saturday. Baker Donelson’s Women’s Initiative is committed to promoting women in positions of leadership both within and outside of the firm, and attorneys from all offices participate in leadership and community service activities. |
