Lowrance, Thomas Wesley posted July 20, 2008 Thomas Wesley Lowrance, 85, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008, in a local hospital. Tom was a retired electrician with Lowrance Electric, a veteran of the Air Force and attended First Nazarene Church. He was a Purple Heart recipient in World War II and was a ball turret gunner, flying over 35 missions. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Eva Lowrance; one sister, Frances Shrum; and one granddaughter, Valerie Quinn Fisher. Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeritza Lowrance, of East Ridge; one daughter, Gwendolyn (Richard) Quinn, of Douglasville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Rick (Karla) Quinn, of Nashville, Jeffrey (Julie) Quinn, of Douglasville, Ga., and Katie A. Quinn, of Boston, Mass.; a grandson-in-law, Jason A. Fisher, of Douglasville, Ga.; and six great-grandchildren; a sister, Dot Cripps, of Chattanooga; and two brothers, Amos (Zella) Dodson Lowrance, of East Ridge, and Dean (Pat) Lowrance, of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. John Andrus and the Rev. Jerry Hanson officiating.
