Volunteered At Memorial Hospital For 25 Years

Bertha A. Brown, 93, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008.

She was a member of First Lutheran Church, LWML, the Sonshine Group and the Adult Bible Class. Mrs. Brown had also been a volunteer at Memorial Hospital for 25 years and a member of several bridge clubs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Brown and three sisters, Mildred, Ruth and Hildegard.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Hartbarger of LaVergne, Tn.; two granddaughters, Heather A. Wallace of Knoxville, Tn., and Jessica M. Wallace of Murfreesboro, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Gilbert Pingel officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fortwood Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37403.
