Zoo Grand Opening Is June 21

Hank will present the grand opening of the Chattanooga Zoo on Saturday, June 21, and also celebrate his 40th birthday.

Admission will be $6 for adults, children under 15 are $3 and zoo members will be free. The carousel admission will be free for everyone.

Direct access to the Zoo is now available by entering through Third Street.

Timeline of activities:

8 a.m.: Breakfast for Zoo Members
9 a.m.: Open to Public
Donations of $1 will purchase a paper banana to color, with proceeds benefiting the Chattanooga Zoo
9:30am: Official vine cutting and dedication

10 a.m.: The party begins with Mayfield’s ice cream, mask making, zoo stickers, signing of Hank’s birthday banner or making a birthday card for Hank, and get a goody from Cornerstone Community Bank. There will be street performances throughout the day and on stage.
10:15 a.m.: Lindsey Fussell Dancers
11 a.m.: Chattanooga Magic
Noon: Sing happy birthday to Hank, led by Restoration Temple of Praise, and eat birthday cake.
1 p.m.: See the tamarins, jaguars and Frankie the hyena enjoy birthday cake and presents.

2 p.m.: See the red pandas, camels and spider monkeys enjoy birthday presents and cake
Chattanooga Magic
3 p.m.: See the snow leopards, langurs and cougars enjoy birthday cake and presents.
