U.S. Sen. Bob Corker made the following statement today after learning that U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) has experienced some health issues.
“I was saddened to learn of the health issue that Sen. Ted Kennedy experienced this morning, and my thoughts and prayers are with he and his family.
“Just this week I had the opportunity to debate an issue with Sen. Kennedy on the floor of the U.S. Senate and was reminded of the incredible passion he has for the issues he cares about and that there is no one who is a more effective advocate. While we more often than not have a different point of view, I have tremendous respect for his drive, his ability and his intellect, and I wish him a speedy recovery.”
The Kennedy family said Sen. Kennedy suffered a seizure.
He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.
