The first major road re-configuration at the Ooltewah exit of Interstate 75 project began taking place Friday morning.
All northbound I-75 traffic exiting onto the Ooltewah exit will no longer be able to merge onto Lee Highway.
That merge lane has been closed permanently and all traffic must go to the red light and turn right or left.
