Army Veteran Was Longtime Diesel Mechanic

He was a lifelong resident of Rossville where he was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church and was a previous member of the Elizabeth Terrace Baptist Church in Rossville where he was saved in the 1980’s.
Mr. Morgan was a United States Army veteran, and was a certified diesel mechanic who worked for 21 years at Nixon Machinery, and ten years at Covington Transport in Ft. Oglethorpe before retiring in 1994.
He was a devoted Christian who loved his Lord and Savior, as well as his family.
His parents, George and Myrtle Morgan preceded him in death.
He is survived by his two daughters and son-in-law, Deborah Sue Morgan of Ooltewah, and Sharon Ann and Larry Jones of Hixson; sister, Norma Jean Pugh of Florida; two grandchildren which he loved greatly, Morgan B. Jones, who was named after her grandfather, and Lawrence A. Jones IV, both of Hixson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his previous wife and caretaker, Sandra S. Hilton of Ooltewah for her love and attention given to the family during this time and to Hospice of Chattanooga for their genuine care.

Graveside services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Chris Cresswell officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the VVA Chapter 203.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
