John Henry Grant, 71, of Cleveland, died Tuesday morning at the family residence. Mr. Grant was the son of the late Pearlie Walker Grant Vandergriff and Jim Grant. His loving wife, Betty Jo Grant and his son, Rodney Grant also preceded him in death.
Mr. Grant was retired from the Bradley County Road Department with many years of service. He enjoyed gardening, yard work and working on cars. He was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Bryan Grant and his friends Laura Hooker and Scottie Moore; his sisters, Daisy McMahon and her husband Ralph both of Cleveland, Irene Stewart Banning and her husband Richard of Tampa, Fla., Mary Ellen Ingram Quarles of Chattanooga; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Sneed of NC, Brenda Thurston and Elizabeth Ann Wray both of Tullahoma and his brother-in-law, Lamar Ellington and his wife Mattie of Ringgold, Ga.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. on Friday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the cremation services.
