Parker, Henry Lee (Georgetown)

Henry Lee Parker, 93, of Georgetown, died Monday in a local hospital. He was the son of the late JoAnn Knoblett Parker and William Alexander Parker. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Ethel Parker; his son, William Winston Parker; grandson, William Barry Parker; and several brothers and sisters.

He was employed by Cumberland Case Company and was also employed by Chair Manufacturing both for many years and Don Williams Construction for several years. He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, farming and gospel music. He attended True Church of God.

Survivors include his second wife, Alice Golden Parker of Cleveland; his son, William J. “Pete” Parker and his wife Faye of Union Grove, Ala.; daughters, Kaye Stuman and her husband Douglas of Georgetown, Tn., JoAnn Pace and her husband James of Cleveland and Jewel Payne of Lake Placid, Fla.; half-brother, Edward Parker of Cleveland; half-sisters, Rosetta Finnell and Vinabelle Herron, both of Cleveland, and Ann Holder of Birchwood; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend James Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in the McInturff Cemetery in Meigs County with grandsons serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes who is in charge of the arrangements.
