McCallie Wins, Baylor Falls In Division II Soccer
posted May 10, 2008

The McCallie soccer team came back from a 1-0 deficit on Saturday to defeat Pope John Paul II 2-1 in a Division II East/Middle region seeding game.

Baylor, who hosted both games on Saturday lost to Father Ryan 3-0.

The three goals scored by Father Ryan more than doubles the goals allowed by Baylor all year which was two before the game on Saturday.

McCallie was down 1-0 to Pope John Paul II but scored two goals for the win.

McCallie's first goal was on a penalty kick by Clint Parker in the 58th minute.

Carter Kerr beat a man down the sideline and sent it across to Jesse Morgan who one timed it into the goal for what would be the game winning score.

McCallie will still have to travel to Memphis and will face off with St. Benedicts in Saturday's sectional game.

Baylor will host MUS on Saturday. Both of those games are elimination with only the four winners moving on to the two-day Division II state tournament in Murfreesboro.
