A native and lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mr. Davis was a longtime member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from the Mueller Company with 42 years of service. He was also a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM and the American Legion. He proudly served his country in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. His first wife, Fannie Davis, and sister, Emma Lou Frazier, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ruby Davis; four nieces, one nephew; godchildren, Bobbie and Stan Swafford of Chattanooga, and Thomas Green, O’Fallon, Il.; special friend, Celestine Church of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the Greater Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Jimmy Ingram and Reginald Poindexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors. Visit www.lane-southcrestchapel.com to send condolences.
