Colston, Billy Ray (Jasper)

Mr. Billy Ray Colston, 77, of Jasper, Tn., died on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at his home.

The son of the late Joseph Vann and Myrtle Layne Colston, he was a retired employee of the US Department of Labor and taught in the Marion County School System for many years. He was also a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, June Bolton and Dorothy Cannon.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Phillips Colston of Jasper; sons, Barry R. Colston, Joel (Kim) Colston and Derreck Worley all of Jasper; grandchildren, Adam Colston of Eckhorn, Nebraska and Jeremy Colston of Jasper; sisters, Muff (Kenneth) Kelly of South Pittsburg and Betty (David) Bayless of Pikeville, Tn.; brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Colston of Trussville, Al., Bob Colston of Whitwell and Jerry (Shirley) Colston of Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. CDT on Saturday, with Reverend Roger Webb officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper.

The family will gather with friends for visitation on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m. CDT and on Friday, from 2-8 p.m. CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Il. 60601-7633, or to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
