Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts was presented with a 2008 Magnet School of Distinction Award. The ceremony took place at the Chattanooga Trade Center during the Magnet Schools of America Conference. This conference was hosted by Hamilton County Schools this year.

Magnet School of America established the Magnet Schools of Merit Award to recognize the top magnet schools in the United States.
