On behalf of the board of directors of the North Chattanooga Council of the Chamber of Commerce, we'd like to publicly thank candidates Tim Akins, Greg Beck, Jim Hammond and Jim Winters for participating in yesterday's forum for the position of Hamilton County Sheriff.
The insights and opinions shared by these four individuals gave all of us a greater insight into how they would supervise and move the Sheriff's Office forward from these past troubling months. I would encourage more public meetings like this as a way to introduce candidates and inform voters before this election.
It's incumbent upon all of us to take a careful look at each candidate before voting for the next sheriff of Hamilton County.
We appreciated the opportunity to hear from each of these candidates and our members are now much better informed as we head to the polls.
