Chattanooga police have arrested a man they said led them on a wild pursuit, including driving on the wrong side of Interstate 24 around Moccasin Bend.

Donyell Dewayne Holland of W. 38th Street is facing a variety of charges after the chase just after midnight Tuesday night.

Police said a Ford F150 was reported carjacked from a victim at LaMacarena on E 24th Place on March 16.

Last night, a patrol officer spotted this vehicle and gave chase. The officers chased the vehicle on I-24 east to the Browns Ferry Road exit, where they exited. The suspect got back on the interstate and crossed over into oncoming traffic.

He continued until reaching the Rossville Boulevard exit. The officers then chased him in and out of the area. During the pursuit, police said he attempted to ram several police cars.

Officers attempted several times to stop the vehicle using stop sticks, but he was able to maneuver around them.

The suspect was finally stopped at 42nd and Fagan Street in Alton Park, where he jumped from the vehicle and ran. After a short foot chase, he was taken into custody.

Holland is facing charges of felony evading arrest and felony theft. Other charges are pending further investigation.
