Nicely, Gordon Play At Charles And Myrtle's Saturday
posted March 26, 2008

Nashville singers and songwriters Jennifer Nicely and Kevin Gordon will play at Charles and Myrtle’s Coffeehouse on Saturday, March 29, at 8 p.m. There is a suggested $10 donation at the door.

Review for Jennifer Nicely and Luminous:

In 2004 Jennifer finished an EP called Seven Songs, produced and recorded by Joe McMahan. In 2006 they began working on a full length album, Luminous, released September 11, 2007. By that time two songs from the new record were already attention: "Nightwalk," which appears on the 2006 compilation The Other Side: Music from East Nashville, and "A Little More," which is featured in an ad for Dewars Scotch.

On the strength of these two tracks she was invited to play both the 2007 Bonnaroo Music Festival and the 2007 Austin City Limits Festival. Jennifer is now touring in support of the new record.

Review for Kevin Gordon:

Kevin Gordon's current CD, O Come Look at the Burning, climbed to the Top 10 on the Americana radio chart, and continues to receive significant airplay at XM and Sirius satellite radio. The album has made several 2005 year-end Top Albums lists, as well.

The title track of Kevin's 2000 Shanachie Records release - Down to the Well, a duet with Lucinda Williams, was featured on both the Oxford American Music issue CD and on No Depression: What It Sounds Like, Vol. 1 compilation, released by Dualtone Records.

Mr. Gordon's songs have been recorded by Keith Richards, Levon Helm, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Irma Thomas, Webb Wilder, Kate Campbell, and others. Raised in north Louisiana and currently based in Nashville, Kevin earned a Master's degree in poetry from the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop.

Charles and Myrtle’s Coffeehouse is located inside Christ Unity Church at 105 McBrien Road.
