Stricter Regulations Needed For Developers
posted January 30, 2008

I am pro growth for our community and the economic benefits that accompany it. When a developer owns land in a single-family residential neighborhood, I believe he should be expected to be responsible to the community to build homes that fit within the neighborhood.

Most people, me included, carefully consider the neighborhood when choosing a home and understand the attention to detail that comes with laying out a neighborhood plan. One does not just move into one building, one moves into a neighborhood.

I request the City Council to carefully consider this issue and the very real possibility of future issues that may arise surrounding zoning for an area. We need stricter regulations for developers. The members of our community who are directly affected by Mr. John Wise and the prospect of his building something that is not appropriate, nor fits our area, have worked diligently to improve and build our beautiful neighborhood.

No neighborhood or community should have to worry about a developer coming in and disrupting an area’s beauty and appeal.
