A 10-year-old student at Lookout Valley Elementary School, Aubrey Reel, was killed when a vehicle was rear-ended while waiting to turn into the new Taco Bell on Cummings Highway in Lookout Valley late Monday afternoon. Her mother, Leana Reel, was injured.

A PayPal account has been set up to help the family cover expenses. A prayer service was also being held on Tuesday night at Lookout Valley Baptist Church.

Four vehicles wound up being involved in the 5:18 p.m. crash, and several people were taken to the hospital.

The crash occurred at 3210 Cummings Highway. The Chattanooga Police Traffic Division responded to the scene.

The Reel vehicle was knocked into the eastbound lanes, where it was struck by another vehicle in the right side.

The vehicle that caused the wreck rotated after impact and was struck in the right front side by a fourth vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle that caused the accident was not hurt and remained on the scene.

Drivers of the other two vehicles were both transported to Erlanger Hospital via personal vehicles.

Members of the Chattanooga Police Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash.
