Boyd Veal To Represent Town Of Signal Mountain On WWTA Board

Signal Mountain Town Manager Boyd Veal has been appointed by the Town Council to serve on the WWTA Board. He replaces Dick Gee who has moved outside of the town limits of Signal Mountain.  

Mr. Veal has over 25 years of experience on Signal Mountain.  He began his career as a patrol officer and rose through the ranks to become chief of police in 2004.  He held that position for 10 years until he was appointed town manager in 2014. 

Mr. Veal has been a member of the Chattanooga Area Regional Council of Governments, serving on the Hamilton County Join Economic and Community Development Board, is an executive board member of the Chattanooga-Hamilton County / North Georgia Transportation Planning Organization and, is a board member of the Hamilton County Emergency Communications District.   

Mr. Veal said, “The aging and deteriorating sewer system on Signal Mountain creates significant challenges.  I’m looking forward to working with the WWTA to find ways to improve services while meeting our regulatory commitments. While there are challenges, there are also opportunities on Signal Mountain and I look forward to representing the town on the board.”

WWTA Board Chairman Mike Moon said, “It’s great to have someone with Boyd’s background and expertise join us as a board member.  As a native of Signal Mountain, his knowledge of the community will serve us well. We’re pleased to welcome Boyd Veal to our board.”
