Mayor Berke To Kick-Off Friday Leadership Series At Brown Academy

  • Monday, September 17, 2018

The Friday Leadership Series is coming to Brown Academy to allow community leaders to help children envision their future.  The series will start with Andy Berke, mayor of Chattanooga, on Friday, Oct. 5 at 8 a.m. at Brown Academy, 718 East 8th St. in Chattanooga.

Mayor Berke will address the fourth and fifth-grade students in an assembly at 8 a.m.  Afterward, he will visit with individual classrooms to talk with smaller groups.  Students will have the opportunity to ask questions during the classroom visits.

The Friday Leadership Series is part of Brown Academy’s efforts to engage children and help frame their perspectives and outlooks on their future and community leadership.  “It is our firm belief that such experiences can evoke a thirst for higher learning and foster personal characteristics for successful lives,” said Emily Baker, principal of Brown Academy in the Rock Point Learning Community.
