green|spaces And Cornerstones, Inc. Announce Collaboration

  • Thursday, August 23, 2018

green|spaces and Cornerstones, Inc. announce a new collaboration between the two organizations to help raise funds for their two similar missions.

“We are excited to work together with green|spaces on this event,” said Ann Gray, executive director of Cornerstones, Inc. “We admire the work that green|spaces does to encourage building owners and developers to work with an existing structure. We love to see adaptive reuse in play and green|spaces has been instrumental in helping make that happen here in town.”

The two nonprofits are joining forces on what has already become a favorite Off the Bridge Event for Wine Over Water weekend. Namaste Bubbly, a Yoga Brunch presented by RevIVe, along with other sponsors Moet Hennessy, and lululemon, will take place at FEED Co. on the Sunday after WOW on Oct. 7 at 10 a.m.

“We always say that the greenest building is one that already exists so we naturally love to see all the work that Cornerstones does to preserve the historic buildings in Chattanooga rather than seeing them be torn down to make way for new ones,” said Dawn Hjelseth, development director of green|spaces.

This fundraising event will take the place of Rooftop Hop and the two organizations plan to grow this Off the Bridge Event in the years to come to accommodate even more yogis and champagne lovers.

"Two of Chattanooga’s favorite yoga teachers, Sara Mingus of Southern Soul Yoga and Kyle House of Kyle House Fitness, will lead the yoga class. RevIVe, Chattanooga’s IV hydration therapy studio, is the presenting sponsor and will be offering the first ten ticket purchases a complimentary IV treatment that morning prior to the yoga class in their mobile hydration unit. lululemon will outfit four lucky ticket purchasers with a free outfit so they can arrive to class in style. Chef Charlie Loomis of FEED and Chef Trent Brockie of Local Juicery and Muse+Metta will be offering scrumptious brunch items that will pair perfectly with the star of the event, champagne and sparkling wines from Moet Hennessy. Edmund Amoye from Moet Hennessy USA will lead guests through a blind tasting designed to help find the perfect pairing for each guest. Moet Hennessy USA owns prestigious Champagne and sparkling wine houses including Ruinart, Moet & Chandon, and Domaine Chandon," officials said.

“This a super fun event for anyone, whether they are serious yogis or serious champagne drinkers,” said Ms. Hjelseth. “But everyone is for sure serious about sustainability and historic preservation.”
