Mag Nola (Rogers) Murphy, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at her home in Benton. She was born on September 8, 1933. She was a graduate of Polk County High School, was retired from Kmart and was a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George R. and Della Rogers; her husband, Joseph Murphy; and her sister, Reba Bridges.
She is survived by her son, Ross Torbett (Bonnie) and step-daughter, Sherry Goforth (R.B.); grandchildren, Casey Akins (Trish) and Chancy Akins; great-grandchildren, Taylor Moore, Chase Akins and Ali Akins. She was also very close to her nieces, Sandra Morgan (Roger) and Rhonda Booth (Richard); her great-nephews and nieces, Andrew Morgan (Kelley), Leigh Anne Calhoun (Brandon), and Joseph Burchfield; and several great-great-nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Higgins Funeral Home in Benton, with Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at Higgins Funeral Home, prior to the service.
