Mary Ellen Birt
Mary Ellen Birt, 55, of Chattanooga, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018, in a local hospital.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Bowling; mother, Annie Ruth Kelloggs.
Survivors include her son, Michael Birt; grandchildren, Annashe Bennett, Malia, Eldrick, Akayla Williams, Travontae Bennett, and TraMichael Bennett; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert Birt, Michael Bowling, and James Earl (Dorothy) Jenning; sisters, Carolyn Birt, Annie (Carlton) Taylor, Tina Birt, and Lisa Birt, all of Chattanooga; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Friday, Aug. 31, after 1 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Bishop William Simpson as the eulogist and Derrick Vinson officiating.
