Wall Collapses At Home On Bradford Place Drive

  • Saturday, August 18, 2018
Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a structural collapse call shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday.

When firefighters arrived at 307 Bradford Place Drive, a large hole could be seen on one side of the house.
Battalion Chief Don Bowman said an exterior wall collapsed into the basement. There was some initial concern that an elderly resident might still be inside, but after a thorough search, it was determined that the resident was not home. She was located a short time later and informed of the damage.

A city building inspector told the resident that she would need to contact her insurance company and get the basement wall repaired before she could stay in the house. Chief Bowman said water buildup around the foundation from the heavy rains Friday night were the likely cause of the wall collapse.
