Michael Tumlin
A Knoxville woman said she was robbed of $4,500 by a man police say is a member of the Vice Lords gang.
Michael "Mike Mike" Tumlin, 45, of 6204 Vance Road, is charged with aggravated robbery.
The woman said she had known Tumlin for 12 years and had visited him while he was in federal prison.
She said she spoke with him over the phone about a vehicle he was selling, and they agreed on a price of $4,500.
She said she drove to Chattanooga last Sunday and met him on Quinn Adams Road, where he said his grandmother lives. She said she found she had been directed to a dead end and that Tumlin was behind her.
The woman said during the transaction that Tumlin grabbed her purse, then pulled a silver handgun on her.
She said she told him, "Mike, Mike, you ain't going to do me like this." She said he replied, "I'm doing it."
She asked, "Are you robbing me" and he replied, "I'm robbing you."
The woman said Tumlin told her to drive off, then return in a few minutes to get her purse. When she did, it was missing the $4,500 in cash, she said.
