Gene Cox
Marvin Eugene “Gene” Cox, age 78, of Dalton, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Beulah Cox; son, Michael Cox; daughter, Vanessa Cox; and a brother, Charles Hatmaker.
Mr. Cox was a member of Cumberland View Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, LaGretta Cox of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Rene and Keith Harmon of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Paige Cox of Dalton; sisters and brother-in-law, Kathy and Randy Abston of Rockwood, Tn., and Brenda Bickle of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Judy Cox; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating.
The family will receive friends at funeral home Wednesday, Aug. 15, from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour at 7 p.m.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 16, at noon at Cumberland View Cemetery in Jacksboro, Tn.
