Elect Elizabeth Baker

  • Sunday, July 22, 2018
I am encouraging my friends, relatives, and smart Republicans to vote for Elizabeth Baker for county commissioner, District #2. Mrs. Baker is willing to make this a full time job. She wants to help our community be what we want it to be.

Her opponent was on the taxpayer payroll for 12 years, finally got him off, and it would be a huge mistake to put him there again. Have those who sing his praises spoken with any of the current or former School Board members who served with him when he showed up? Of course not.
I know a lot of those who handled problems in our district for him because he didn't respond to them. Have any of those tried to reach him by phone for those 12 years? Of course not. I tried for over a month, leaving voice mail with my name and number and no response. I called Rhonda Thurman one time, answered the phone on Friday, called me back on Monday, problem solved.

Have any of his supporters checked on his involvement in getting the new school? Of course not. Mr. Caldwell in Summertown/Walden began the initiative to get the school and it was well on its way before he was ever involved. His only claim to fame was that he unfortunately was the School Board representative at the time.

Have any of his supporters deducted the time he has to serve as he has said publicly he works 50, 60, sometimes 70 hours per week for the success with Riverbend? Of course not. Doesn't leave much time to serve does it? He already delegates most of the work to Dixie Fuller and Jeff "Axeman" Styles for entertainment and it still requires him to work all those hours. He couldn't properly serve us if he wanted to.

Do we want that kind of representation on the County Commission? Of course not.
