Cortez Alford, 41, Shot And Killed On Arlington Avenue On Wednesday

Cortez Alford, 41, was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Chattanooga Police Department responded to the 1100 block of Arlington Avenue on the report of a person shot. Upon arrival, police located Alford, who was deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
 
Witnesses told police Alford and another man were involved in a physical altercation prior to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene.
 
Police were able to locate a firearm in the vicinity of the shooting. Members of the Violent Crime Bureau are actively investigating this incident.
