Tennessean Scott Bloomquist celebrated his 600th overall victory Saturday passing fellow Volunteer state racer leader Jimmy Owens on the 32nd lap and led the rest of the "CMH Diamond Nationals" at Lucas Oil Speedway in Missouri.

Bloomquist's 600th career victory paid $12,000 as he took the checkers over Mason Zeigler.

Bloomquist won for the second time this season at the Wheatland, Mo. track adding his victory to Memorial Day weekend's $30,000 Show-Me 100 triumph back in May.

Bloomquist has 92 career Lucas Oil victories. It was just two years ago Bloomquist marked his 500th careeer win in Indiana. Series points leader Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Ga., started 22nd and finished sixth.

Bloomquist thanked his dad for getting him started in racing back in California as a young man before relocating and beginning a full time racing career in Tennessee in the 1980's. Bloomquist's also sighted industry insider Randy Sweet as a key component to his current winning stats. Their Sweet-Bloomquist Racecar is powered by an Andy Durham Racing Engine and sponsored by "Reece Monuments, New Direction, Valvoline, Allstar Performance, Sorbera Chiropractic, Horton Coal, Hawkeye Trucking, CrossFit Overton, CatSpot Litter, Penske Shocks, Go Lithium, Petroff Towing and Sweet Manufacturing".

Rossville Georgia's Dale McDowell won the $10,000 Southern Nationals opener in Wythe, Va. Saturday night over Vic Hill.
