The League of Women Voters of Chattanooga will partner with The Hamilton County Council of PTAs to host a Hamilton County School Board Candidate Meet & Greet. All qualified candidates for School Board in Districts 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 have been invited to participate in this event.
The Meet & Greet will take place on Monday, July 23 on the 4th floor of the Chattanooga Public Library, downtown branch, 1001 Broad St., from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The School Board Candidate Meet & Greet will operate with standing rules for all participants, which will limit the length of introductions to three minutes, after which the candidates will go to assigned tables to meet with voters from their respective districts. The candidates will not engage in debates, but will be able to talk with the voters who attend and to answer their questions. This meet & greet is nonpartisan.
"Neither the LWV Chattanooga nor the HC PTA Council endorses candidates or contributes to political campaigns. The goal of this meet & greet is to provide a venue for public education about candidates’ platforms, enabling voters to make informed decisions. The public is urged to attend and participate in getting to know their school board candidates," officials said.
