Mary Etta Hyatte Phillips, 76, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at her residence.  

She attended Soddy Daisy and Chattanooga Public Schools.  She was formerly employed by Olan Mills and Lifetouch.  Mary was a member of New United Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Blevin and Muriel Hyatte, Sr.; infant daughter, Angela Lipscomb; sister, Doris Bryant; brothers, Marvin Hyatte and Howard Hyatte. 

Survivors include her husband, Dolphus Phillips, Sr.; sisters, Vivian (Jesse) Montgomery, Ruth Hogue, and Sylvia Reid, all of Chattanooga; brothers, Blevin (Mary) Hyatte, Jr. of Soddy Daisy and Darrell Hyatte of Tampa, Fl.; foster daughter, Miranda Davis of Brattleboro, Vt.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Friday, June 29, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Jeffrey Wilson as the eulogist.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
