The family of a man who hanged himself at the County Jail is suing the county.

Lydia Murphy filed the suit in Circuit Court as administrator of the estate of Tyree Corley.

Corley, 22, had been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found at Renaissance Park.

He took his own life at the jail.

Attorney Robin Flores said Corley was not properly screened when he went into the jail and was not properly monitored.

The suit asks $700,000 in damages.
