Cornelius McWhorter
Cornelius Frances McWhorter, Sr., 84, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at his residence.
He was a graduate of Howard High School. He owned a janitorial service and retired after many years of service.
Cornelius was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma McWhorter, Sr.; brothers, Harry Eugene McWhorter and James McWhorter, Jr.; sister, Nancy Bell Walker; and wife, Carolyn McWhorter.
Survivors include his sons, Cornelius (Regina) McWhorter, Jr., Dennis McWhorter, and Bobby McWhorter; daughters, Krystal McWhorter, Charlotte “Vienna” (Garrison) Martin, Cathy (Micheal) Goldthreat, and Mary (Kenneth, Sr.) Cameron, all of Chattanooga; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Samuel (Rachon) McWhorter and Dargin (Anita) McWhorter; sister, Patricia Simon, all of Pasadena, Ca.; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation is on Friday, June 22, from 1-2 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Graveside service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in Highland Memorial Gardens with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist.
