Mary Helen Lee, 96, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018, in a local health care facility.
She was a life-long member of First Baptist Church where she was a member of the J.O.Y Sunday school class and the Clark Circle. Helen taught the seven year olds at the church for many years. She was retired from Unum Provident with over 30 years of service. She was also a member of the Johnston FCE and Chapter 3412 AARP in Cleveland. She enjoyed gardening and travel and was member of the Pilot Club and the YWCA.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Lee and Anna Tomlinson Lee; brothers, Harry C. Lee and wife, Lucille and J. B. Lee, Jr.; sister, Minnie Ruth Hunter and husband, Trapnell; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Lee; niece, Suzanne Lee and great-nephew, Chris Exum.
Survivors include her brothers, Robert Lee of Cleveland and Tommy Lee of Marietta, GA; three nephews, Dr. John T. Lee and wife, Susie of Murfreesboro, Bill Hunter and wife, Jen of Rocky Mount, NC and David Lee and wife, Keri of Marietta, GA; three nieces, Harriet Smedley and husband, Charles of Apison, Ann Hunter Exum and husband, Wayne of Valdosta, GA and Melinda Parks and husband, Jon of Wendell, NC; three great-nephews, Mark Smedley, Ryan Parks and Elliott Parks; eight great-nieces, Andrea Gipson, Kristy Smedley, Joanne Williams, Kara Exum, Anna Parks, Heidy Lee, Katy Parks and Lydia Parks.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 22, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1–3 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
