Dorothy Cobb
Dorothy McDowell Cobb, 88, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
She was born in Chattanooga and was the daughter of the late Alvey Carl and Grace Means McDowell. Dorothy attended Oakwood Baptist Church.
Dorothy (Nanny, as she was known) was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Alvin “Pow” Cobb; a brother and sister-in law, CJ (Hilda) McDowell; three sisters and brother’s-in-law, Juanita McDowell (Harry) Hale, Katherine McDowell (Herman) Hale and Sybil McDowell (Eddie) Porter.
Survivors include her four children, Gary (Lynda) Mishoe, Bill (Pam) Cobb, Steve Cobb, all from Ringgold, and Donna (Terry) Mullins, Chattanooga; three step-children, Jim (Suzanne) Cobb, Spring City, Tn., Gloria Howe, Powell, Tn., and Gail (George) Rosen, Bristol; 11 grandchildren, Jessica Rosen, Paul (Julie) Howe, Timothy (Kristy) Howe, Angela (Glenn) McCary, Mark (Meghan) Mishoe, Bryan (Elizabeth) Mullins, Taylor (Kristen) Mullins, Lauren (Cecil) Harvey, Eric Cobb, Michael Cobb and Emily (Jonathon) Spain; 26 great-grandchildren; great-great-grandson, Jayce; brother, Joe (Joan) McDowell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Nathan Malone officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
