Rodney Aslinger
Rodney Aslinger, 87, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2018.
He was born in Sale Creek to the late John and Neita Aslinger. He graduated from Spring City High School. He loved farming. Rodney was a 21-year member of Red Bank Baptist Church and the Mitchell-Griffin Life Group. He was co-owner of Auto Electric and Magneto Company for over 40 years with his late business partner, David Coffey.
Rodney was also preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Bob Aslinger; sisters, Francis Harbin and Betty Miller; nephew, Robby Harbin and niece, Sherry Harbin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Charma Aslinger; sons, George and wife Cindy Aslinger, and Barry and wife Tammy Aslinger; daughter, Dara and husband Dan Wood; grandchildren, George III and wife Cori Aslinger, Phillip, Lauren, Kelsey, and Chloe Aslinger and Hannah Wood; great-grandchildren, Landon and Lillian Aslinger; nephews, Jerry and David Harbin; niece, Johnna Berkley; special friends, Jimmy and Sue Holland; and host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 4–8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, and 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at Lane Funeral Home on Ashland Terrace.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, in the Chapel with Bill Harvey officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
Jimmy, Hudson Jerry Harbin, David Harbin, George Aslinger. Bob Mashburn and Phil Aslinger will be serving as pallbearers.
The Mitchell-Griffin Life Group will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
