The Morning Pointe Foundation hosted its fourth annual Mastering Memory Care Golf Tournament at Lookout Mountain Golf Club on Lookout Mountain. The 2018 event raised more than $65,000 – reaching more than $200,000 since its first tee-off in 2014 – to support caregiver educational and wellness programs, community partnerships, public awareness events, and nursing scholarships.
Funds from the Mastering Memory Care Golf Tournament directly benefit the Morning Pointe Foundation Scholarship, which engages exceptional nursing students seeking careers in geriatrics while developing a workforce that is equipped to address a growing aging population with changing healthcare needs.

Veronica Bush, 2018 Morning Pointe Scholar at Chattanooga State Community College, shared her testimony during the event. Officially a registered nurse, Bush joins the next generation of caregivers thanks to the Morning Pointe Scholarship.
“I am eternally grateful to the help of the Morning Pointe Scholarship for enabling me to pursue my educational and career goals,” Ms. Bush said. “Because of this, I completed my final semester at ease.”
Founded in 2014 by senior healthcare entrepreneurs Greg A. Vital and J. Franklin Farrow, the 501(c)3 public service non-profit organization has increased awareness of senior-centered issues while impacting more than 3,000 family and professional caregivers and forming seven nursing scholarships at colleges and universities in Eastern and Middle Tennessee, and Central Kentucky. Since the creation of the scholarship program, the Foundation has awarded 20 students pursuing careers in geriatric nursing, with new partnerships forming at colleges in Richmond, Ky. and Shelton, Al.
