Dalton State fired a team round of (+11, 299) to extend their lead in the SSAC Championships at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Ala on Tuesday. The Lady Roadrunners, (+10, 586), are 30 shots ahead of second place William Carey (Miss.), (+40, 616).

Faulkner (Ala.), (+46, 622), remains third, followed by Loyola (La.), (+61, 637), in fourth.
Mobile (Ala.), (+63, 639), rounds out the Top-5.

All-Americans Caroline Griffin and Tia Teiniketo tied for the best Roadrunner rounds of the day with each shooting (+2, 74). Griffin would get off to a hot start with birdies on Nos. 2 & 5, but bogeys at Nos. 6 & 9 would shift her back to (E) heading to the back 9. She would hit red figures again after a birdie at No. 14. The closing stretch would prove costly as bogeys at Nos. 15, 16, & 17 would see her finish at 2-over and alone in sixth.

Teiniketo would make the turn a 1-under after a birdie at No. 7. The back 9 would catch her out as well with two bogeys and a double-bogey. A closing par would see her finish out strong and and stay in solo second.

First round leader, All-American Isabel Rijos, continues to hold the top spot after a round of (+3, 75). A single birdie coupled with eight pars had her making the turn to the back 9 at 1-under. Four bogeys on her first six holes on the back 9 brought her score to (+3) for the round, but three-straight pars to close would see her hang on to the lead.

Sophomore Hannah Gasaway and All-American Katie Dalton would each post rounds of (+4, 76) on Tuesday. Gasaway would get off to a better start going 1-over on the front 9. Like the rest of her teammates, she would struggle on the back 9, carding a (+3, 39). Her score would be good enough to vault her into the Top-10 in ninth.

Dalton would be at (E) on the front going into No. 9, but a double-bogey saw her hit the back 9 at (+2). She would hit her stride with seven consecutive pars, but closing bogeys at Nos. 17 & 18 proved for a tough finish. She continues to hold on to third place individually.

Dalton State will hit the course again tomorrowApril 25 as they look to close out another conference championship in the SSAC Championships at Arrowhead Country Club in Montgomery, Ala. The Lady Roadrunners will tee off hole No. 1 beginning at 8:00 a.m. (CDT) and will be paired with William Carey (Miss.), Faulkner (Ala.), and Loyola (La.).
