Timothy Shrum Sr., 72, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Thursday - April 19, 2018. He was born in Marion County to the late Reverend James Roy “J.R.” Shrum, Sr. and Beryl Rebecca Allen Shrum.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and the National Guard for over twenty years. He served during the Gulf War, and earned the National Defense Medal, Army Service Ribbon and several more commendations. He was a sales manager with Sears & Roebuck Company, where he retired after more than 20 years of service.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sons, Michael Brian Shrum and Mark Anthony Shrum.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Ruth Davenport Shrum; son, Timothy (Jennifer) Shrum Jr., all of Lookout Mountain; daughter-in-laws, Martina Shrum, of Slygo, Ga. and Crystal Tanner, of Rossville; grandchildren, Jordain, Kelsey, Carissa, Logan Shrum, Noah Edward and Alyssa Tanner; brothers, James Roy “Jim” Shrum, Jr., David (Sherry) Shrum and Mitchell Shrum; sisters, Carolyn (Barry) Riley, Susan (Cecil) Gravitt, Sandra (Mike) Gentry and Margaret Stephens; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday morning, prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 22 in the chapel, with Pastors Gene Strauss and Cecil Gravitt officiating. Burial will follow in Burns Cemetery, Tracy City, Tn.
