Carol Adams, Feminist-Vegan Activist And Author, Speaks Here March 28-29

Carol J. Adams, MDiv (Yale University), is a feminist-vegan advocate, activist, independent scholar, and prolific author. Her newest book, "Protest Kitchen: Fight Injustice, Save the Planet, and Fuel Your Resistance One Meal at a Time," will be released Oct. 1. A collaborative effort between multiple universities, nonprofits, and individuals is bringing Ms. Adams to Chattanooga on March 28-29 for three presentations. 

She will speak on the Sexual Politics of Meat on March 28 at 7 p.m. at UTC in the Tennessee Room, University Center. She will speak on "an evolving and challenging presentation that uses images of women and animals in contemporary popular culture to discuss oppressive attitudes."

Her talk on March 29 at 11 a.m. at Southern Adventist University in the Lynn Wood Chapel will be Dreaming of an Inclusive Democracy.  The lecture covers the connections between racism, sexism and attitudes toward animals. 

Justice in the Small Things will be the topic on March 28 at 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Family Justice Center.  The lecture will cover Alzheimer’s, aging parents, and care giving. 

All presentations are free and open to the public.
