The Chattanooga Mocs men’s golf team finished ninth Tuesday at the Linger Longer Invitational. The Mocs final round 300 gave them a season-best 876 total for the 54 holes.
Lake Johnson led today’s effort with a level-par 72. Luke Long was one off his pace with a 73. Andrew Weathers and Oliver Simonsen carded 77 and 78, respectively, to round out the counting cards.
The Mocs made the turn at 2 over. They were E after Etienne Brault’s eagle on the par 4 11th, but struggled coming back to the clubhouse.
The team shot 12 over for the last seven holes for the 300 total.
Long turned in 1-under 215 for the three days to top the Mocs leaderboard tying for 17th overall. Johnson was next at 219 with Weathers another stroke back at 220. Simonsen ended up with 225 followed by Brault’s 231.
No. 8 Alabama was a two-shot winner over runner-up Georgia. The Crimson Tide’s Lee Hodges earned medalist honors at 14-under 202.
