Review for Louisa Branscomb and Pam Gadd:

Louisa Branscomb has long been considered a pioneer for songwriters, woman performers, and as an artist with her compositions. Her distinctions include three International Bluegrass Association Awards, another six nominations, two Grammy cuts (Alison Krauss and John Denver), 2014 IBMA Song of the Year (Dear Sister with Claire Lynch), 1993 SPBGMA Song of the Year (“Steel Rails,” Krauss), and over 190 recorded original songs by artists including Claire Lynch, Krauss, John Denver, Dale Ann Bradley, and her own works. She is a two-time winner of the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest with songs placing in bluegrass (1st) and general (3rd).  Her classic Steel Rails, is to date the longest running chart hit in bluegrass (also a Billboard country hit), while Dear Sister  topped charts in bluegrass, Americana, and folk music. These distinctions and more recently earned her the 2017 IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award. She has been honored with inductions to the Atlanta Country Hall of Fame and the Alabama Bluegrass Hall of Fame, and with a Georgia Lifetime Achievement Award.

Pam Gadd’s musical resume includes appearances on 10 albums and half-a-dozen videos, appearances on Hee Haw, Nashville Now, David Letterman, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as a vocalist with Patty Loveless as well as being a Grammy and Academy of Country Music nominee with Wild Rose on Capital Records. Her considerable banjo skills, vocals, and songwriting have been part of recordings by many artists and she was nominated by SPBGMA for Song and Songwriter of the year. A gifted writer, Pam's songs have been recorded by Doyle Lawson, Rarely Herd and Carl Jackson, and in 2017 she won the Hazel Dickens Song Contest. Pam performed weekly at the Grand Ole Opry with Porter Wagoner as his singing partner until his death in 2007.
