McCampbell, Lucille Wallingsford

Lucille Wallingsford McCampbell, 95, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at her home in Townsend, Tennessee.

She was an avid quilter, reader, and puzzle worker, and enjoyed gardening. She was also a longtime member of the Richard City Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Porter Wallingsford and Gertrude and Walter Guffey, husband, Joe R. McCampbell, son, Bobby Joe McCampbell, great-grandsons, Adam Hughes and Andrew Hughes, and sister, Bonnie Jean O’Neal.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Russell Smith, of Townsend, Tn.; granddaughter, Lora Smith, of Jasper, Tennessee; great-great-grandson, Damien Hughes, of Jasper; sisters, Violet Rousseau, Joyce Davis, both of Scottsboro, Al., Wilma Thrasher, and Marilyn Lancaster, both of Chattanooga; brother, Jim (Betty) Guffey, of Trenton, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tn., at 3 p.m. CT, on Saturday, March 17.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 1–2:45 p.m. CT at Rogers Funeral Home, 400 Laurel Avenue, South Pittsburg.
