Everette V. Dyer, 79, of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 23, 2018.

Everette was born and raised in Knoxville but moved to Huntsville to proudly work for Boeing during the early “space era” and later moved to Chattanooga to begin his life as a banker. Everette had a long career as a banker with American National Bank, and later, SunTrust Banks.  Over many years he served as a deacon both at White Oak Baptist Church and Calvary Bible Church.  He loved singing in the choir and was always active in the church dramas.  He was an avid gardener and was always working on some new project in the garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel J. and Minnie Dyer; two brothers, Hillyard Greer Dyer and Sammy L. Dyer; three sisters, Mildred E. Anderson, Betty J. Womack and Frances L. Coward.

Everette is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Peggy Trapp Dyer; children, Jeffrey Dyer and Bryan Dyer.  He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends that knew him in the banking business.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Services for Everette will follow at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, at the North Chapel with Pastor Bill Henry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Church, 4001 Mountain Creek Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
