Dalton State Women 5 Back After 1st Round Of Georgetown Invitational

Dalton State got off to a great start on Monday, firing a (+26, 314) in the first round of the Georgetown College Invitational at Slammer and Squire Course in St. Augustine, Fla. They sit in a tie for second with #15 Southeastern (Fla.), trailing leader and #6-ranked South Carolina-Beaufort, (+21, 309) by five strokes.

Rounding out the Top-5 are Rhodes College, (+32, 320), and #20 SCAD-Atlanta, (+37, 325). #4 Keiser, (+45, 333), is in seventh.

All-Americans Caroline Griffin and Isabel Rijos led the way for the Lady Roadrunners.
Griffin carded a (+4, 76) and sits in a tie for fourth, while Rijos joins her in the Top-10 in seventh after a round of (+5, 77). Sophomore Tia Teiniketo is in 15th after posting (+7, 79).

Sophomores Haejin Choe and Hannah Gasaway are tied for 25th after rounds of (+10, 82)

The #2-ranked Lady Roadrunners will be back in action tomorrow, February 20, as they look to erase a five shot deficit and bring home the W in the final round of the Georgetown College Invitational.
