Charles E. Barrett, 82, of Chickamauga, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 18, 2018. Charlie had worked several jobs as a mechanic, and after he retired he was the owner/operator of his lawnmower shop.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Effie Barrett; siblings, Buck, George, Nell Mullis, H.D. “Boss” and Bobby.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Barrett; children, Robert (DeeAnn) Willis of Ringgold, Kathy (Jeff) Scoggins of Rock Spring, Terry (Marcia) Barrett of Chickamauga and Michael Barrett of Ft. Oglethorpe; sister, Betty Mann; several grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in LaFayette Memory Gardens, with Min. Alfred Holland and Min. Johnny Foster officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-8 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Wednesday.
