Ruth Locke
Ruth Jeweldeen Locke, 94, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in a local hospital.
She confessed Christ at an early age at Orchard Knob Baptist Church. Later in life, she joined Mt. Canaan Baptist Church and was a faithful member until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Crittie Locke; brothers, Shannon, J.D., and Andrew Locke; sisters, Louise Russell and Virginia Hewlett.
Survivors include her nieces, Iris Brown of Chattanooga, Louise Wilson of Cleveland, Oh., and Dorothy Hewlett of Baton Rouge, La.; nephews, William (Catherine) Locke of Cleveland, Oh., Shannon (Brenda) Hewlett of Gretna, La., and Vernon Hewlett of Chattanooga; cousin, Vivian Mack of Nyack, N.Y.; a host of great-nieces and nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Oct. 28, at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ternae Jordan, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
