Michael Kelley Jenkins, 66, of Rossville, passed away on October 18, 2018 in Chattanooga. Michael graduated from Chattanooga Valley High School in 1970 and West Georgia College in 1974. He taught for Walker County Schools for 36 years and at the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program for 14 years.
Michael was born on March 5, 1952 to Phil and Nancy Jenkins. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Parrish, on Sept. 10, 1971.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy and sister, Phyllis Brazealle.
He is survived by wife, Sandra; father, Phil; mother-in-law, Elaine Parrish; sister, Leslie Cagle (Bobby); brother, Danny; daughters, Terri Jenkins-Suggs (Chris), Rachel Lawing (Adam) and Rebekah Jenkins; and granddaughters, Thao and Remi Lawing.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 21 at Ridgeland High School, where he taught for 25 years. His family will receive visitors from 1-4 p.m., with a memorial service to follow.
