Mother nature would play a role in the NAIA National Championship Preview at Lincoln Park Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Ok., on Monday, forcing the cancellation of the morning round and shortening the tournament from 54-holes to 36-holes. Even with the schedule change, #3 Dalton State would stay in the hunt posting a team total of (+21, 309) and sits in a tie with fellow SSAC member and #8-ranked Loyola (La.).
#2 SCAD-Savannah (Ga.), (+11, 299) holds the lead with #17 Texas Wesleyan, (+14, 302), in second.
#20 South Carolina-Beaufort, (+16, 304) is third followed by #5 William Carey (Miss.), (+19, 307), in fourth. The #3-ranked Lady Roadrunners and #8 Loyola (La.) round out the top-5.
Junior All-American Isabel Rijos is leading the way for the Lady Birds after carding a round of (-1, 71) and is tied for the individual lead with Alessia Alvanzo of SCAD-Savannah and Aleesha Smith of William Carey. Fellow All-American Katie Dalton is tied for seventh overall with Vanessa Schloo of South Carolina-Beaufort after a round of (+2, 74).
Freshman Cameron Daniel recorded a round of (+9, 81) and sits in a tie for 42nd overall, while juniors Haejin Choe and Hannah Gasaway had scores of (+11, 83) to round out team scoring. Freshmen Katelyn Skiffen and Sutton Rollins, playing as individuals, recorded rounds of (+5, 77) and (+17,89) respectively.
The #3-ranked Lady Roadrunners will look to finish strong when they compete in the final round of the NAIA National Championship Preview on Tuesday at Lincoln Park Golf Club in Oklahoma City, Ok.
